Studying the genomics of leukemia at OREGON HEALTH & SCIENCE UNIVERSITY
Here in The Maxson Laboratory, our primary goal is to understand how genomic changes manifest at the cellular level to promote cancer formation and progression. We are particularly interested in using new tools to understand how different gene mutations cooperate to produce distinct types of leukemia.
Dr. Julia Maxson and her laboratory are supported by a R00 Pathways to Independence Award from NCI/NIH, an American Society of Hematology Junior Faculty Scholar Award, a Medical Research Foundation New Investigator Grant, a Knight Cancer Institute Pilot Award, and generous funding from the Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology at OHSU.
